\Snatch the moment\ A secret backyard garden in Kaohsiung lets you be spontaneous

Want to jump around like in a movie scene? Just step out from the grey concrete jungle of high-rises and into a dreamy paradise filled with Ferris wheels and tropical fruit fields. This isn’t a movie set, but in reality, there really is such a place — just a short drive away. See the big red sign on your right, then make a right turn — and you’re there.

The general direction is toward E-Da World. It’s actually very close to downtown Kaohsiung. Take Exit 10 Renwu Interchange on National Freeway 10, head toward the Ferris wheel at two o’clock, and after passing E-Da World, you’ll see endless pineapple fields — slow down, because in just a few turns you’ll arrive. Look for the big red sign on your right, then turn right.

Daguantingyuan Café is a place that makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable. While integrating into the surrounding natural environment, it also maintains overall convenience. It’s most suitable for parent-child outings or family meals, and also great for friends gathering or couples dating. The spacious grounds let kids run and play, while adults can leisurely sip tea, coffee, enjoy meals, and admire the gardens. Friends can gather here for activities and fun games, and even pets can run freely. It’s truly the top choice for adults, kids, and pets to roam and relax！

I think it’s probably because the owners themselves are very down-to-earth！Daguantingyuan Café was jointly created and managed by a group of friends, combining their expertise and interests, running it with the heart of making friends. It’s become a great leisure spot for themselves and loved ones, and allows more people to share these wonderful moments.

▲ The owner has a strong personal touch — the park design doesn’t stick to one style, whether classic Chinese, or tropical Southeast Asian flair, all blended seamlessly.

▲ Thoughtfully, the outdoor seating areas are equipped with sunshade and mosquito nets, plus large water-cooled fans, greatly enhancing comfort.

The ordering counter is located past the central cycad-lined pathway, inside a converted shipping container. Ordering is semi-self-service — you order and pay first, then friendly staff will bring your food to you！

Camping & Splash Pool

The wooden pavilions are scattered at varying heights, giving off a laid-back vibe. The dining area is cozy, and you can also choose to relax in the camping area. Renting a tent costs just NT$300, with restrooms and showers fully available. You can come in the afternoon to run around, drink tea, eat, then enjoy the night view, camp overnight under the stars and chat — allowing you to break free from the shackles of screens and enjoy nature’s beauty. Reminder: there’s a big temperature difference between day and night, so bring a jacket just in case.

Daguantingyuan Café has a designated area for parent-child water and sand play activities. If you plan to get in the water, remember to bring swimwear and swim caps. The splash pool is divided into two sizes with varying depths. Children under 120 cm must be accompanied by an adult. There’s a sandbox area by the pool, bathroom and washing facilities, as well as seating for parents or little ones who stay dry. A small cleaning fee is charged for using the splash pool — NT$100 for adults, NT$50 for children under 120 cm.(The pool is only open in summer)

Wide selection of food and drinks

Although it's called "Garden Café," besides serving great coffee, its other drinks and meals are also top-notch—generous portions and high quality. There are seven rice set meals including black pepper pork loin, New Orleans grilled chicken leg, and beef brisket rice, as well as two types of hot pot (original and kimchi), plus a variety of options such as hot pot noodle series, fried food series, grilled food series, and vegetarian series, offering a very diverse menu.
