Minimum order of radish cake starts at NT$98  Taipei’s cheapest Michelin-starred “Tim Ho Wan” to begin trial sales

The affordable Michelin one-star restaurant from Hong Kong, “Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum Specialist,” will open for trial sales on the 26th at the HOYII HeYi Life Mall in the Taipei Railway Station area, becoming its third overseas branch after Singapore and the Philippines.

In addition to the previously confirmed pan-fried radish cake, Taipei Tim Ho Wan offers six major categories: the “Four Heavenly Kings,” steamed items, fried items, clay pot rice, congee, desserts, and vegetables, totaling about 27 options. As for the most concerning aspect—prices—they are divided into four tiers, with the cheapest per serving (per basket) starting at NT$98, followed by NT$108, NT$118, and the most expensive at NT$128.

The signature “Four Heavenly Kings” at Tim Ho Wan are priced as follows: Crispy BBQ Pork Buns at NT$118, Pork Liver Sausage at NT$128, and both the Smooth Malay Sponge Cake and Pan-Fried Radish Cake at NT$98 each. The trial sales hours are from 12 noon to 9 pm, and reservations are not accepted during the trial period—diners must queue on-site.

Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum Specialist was established in 2009, founded by renowned Hong Kong chef Mak Kwai Pui. Just one year after opening, it earned a Michelin one-star rating and went on to retain this honor for six consecutive years. Despite its rising popularity, the prices remain very affordable, averaging around HK$25, earning it the title of “the world’s cheapest Michelin restaurant.”
