Kaohsiung gas explosion: Hundreds of hotel rooms cleared for free stays for 300 residents

In response to the July 31 gas explosion in Kaohsiung, over 30 hotels across the city have coordinated to clear more than 100 vacant rooms for affected residents. Residents can check in using their ID cards. Zhou Mali, secretary-general of the Kaohsiung Hotel Association, stated that approximately 300 residents can currently be accommodated, and more rooms will be cleared if needed. She also confirmed that all hotels in Kaohsiung remain safe, with only one hotel affected by water and power outages.

It is understood that over 30 hotels in Kaohsiung have been coordinated to provide accommodation for disaster victims. In addition to medium and large-sized hotels, many smaller establishments have also cleared rooms and volunteered to host affected individuals. Around 300 residents are expected to be accommodated, and those in need can exchange their ID cards for free lodging. Regarding the safety of guest accommodations, Zhou Mali also noted that all hotels in Kaohsiung are located in safe areas, so travelers planning to visit the city need not be overly concerned.
