Hong Kong’s “Wi-Fi.HK” Launched – 30 Minutes of Free Wi-Fi at 5,000 Hotspots

The Hong Kong government, in collaboration with local service providers, has launched over 5,000 “Wi-Fi.HK” hotspots as of the 5th. Starting today, visitors to Hong Kong can enjoy either fully free or at least 30 minutes of free public Wi-Fi service without the need for registration.

The service announced by the Hong Kong government covers locations including Hong Kong International Airport, public telephone booths, popular tourist attractions, shopping malls, and restaurants. Starting today, users only need to search for the network name “Wi-Fi.HK” on their mobile phones or devices, or be in a location displaying the brand logo, to connect to the internet.

According to Hong Kong media reports, starting today, residents and visitors in Hong Kong can search for the network name “Wi-Fi.HK” on their mobile phones or devices, or visit locations displaying the “Wi-Fi.HK” brand logo. By simply agreeing to the service provider’s terms, they can enjoy at least 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi without prior registration. At certain locations such as airports, science parks, and Cyberport, users can access Wi-Fi services completely free of charge.
