"There are ghosts on the train!" Japanese female tourist is left stunned

During Ghost Month, "ghosts" actually appeared on a Taiwan Railways train in broad daylight. Today (the 9th), a group of Chinese and Western mythical creatures and ghosts simultaneously showed up at Taipei Railway Station and even boarded the train with passengers. A beautiful Japanese female tourist stared at the ghosts in amazement, exclaiming how unique it was.

It turns out this was a promotional flash mob event organized by the Keelung City Government to promote the "Keelung Ghost Festival." On the train bound for Keelung, there were ghost warriors from old Japanese films, Chinese zombies and the Goddess of Mercy (Meng Po), as well as the Horse-Faced Guardian from the Ox-Head and Horse-Face duo. They rode the train as if nothing were unusual, drawing passengers who eagerly took photos with them.The organizers stated that unlike last year’s terrifying costumes, this year they opted for a cute and heartwarming approach. The costumes were not gory, and the performers would not actively try to scare passengers. Special care was taken around children to prevent them from getting frightened.

It was previously reported that the "ghost train" was "firmly rejected" by Taiwan Railways.,In response, Kuo Shih-yen, director of Taipei Operations Section of Taiwan Railways, said that to ensure passenger rights and safety, Taiwan Railways specially assigned 10 station staff today. As long as the ghost-costumed staff do not actively disturb other passengers, otherwise, they could be denied boarding under Article 5 of the Railway Act for violating public order and morals, considering these "special" passengers.

The monsters originally scheduled to board the train also complied with Taiwan Railways regulations and instead gathered at Keelung Railway Station with the other ghosts. They joined in the fun at the visitor center near the station with the public, adding a cute and lively atmosphere to the upcoming evening Ghost Festival parade.
