Making a strong comeback after 20 years！ Air France to launch direct flights from Taipei to Paris starting April next year

There's a new option for direct flights from Taipei to Paris, France！ After a 20-year hiatus, Air France (Air France Asia) has officially announced its return to the Taiwanese market, with direct flights between Taipei Taoyuan Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport starting April 16, 2018. The route will operate three flights per week on Boeing 777 aircraft. Air France previously operated the Taipei–Paris route under the name Air France Asia in 1993 but withdrew from the market in 1997. This comeback will further boost competition in Taiwan’s direct flight market to Europe.

In a press release on its official website, Air France stated that the new Taipei (Taoyuan)–Paris (Charles de Gaulle) route will operate every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft configured with three classes — 40 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 216 economy class seats, accommodating a total of 280 passengers. The new flights are scheduled to depart Paris at 1:35 p.m. and arrive in Taiwan at 8:15 a.m. the following day; they will depart Taipei at 10:25 a.m. and arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 6:20 p.m. the same day.

Air France, a subsidiary of Air France-KLM, operated the Paris–Taipei route in 1994 under the name Air France Asie, but ceased passenger services in 1997 due to operational difficulties and suspended cargo services in 1999.
