Taichung Expands "iBike" Stations with Six More Rental Locations in October

Taichung's public bicycle system "iBike" will soon have new rental stations added. On the 3rd, the Taichung City Transportation Bureau announced that the three stations set up since July at the City Government, Qiu Hong Valley, and Feng Chia University have seen very high usage rates. Therefore, it has been decided to add six more rental stations before the end of October, with plans to complete a total of 20 stations by the end of the year.

According to the Transportation Bureau, iBike stations are primarily set up along Taichung’s BRT line, as well as near schools, government offices, and tourist attractions. This ensures both local residents and tourists can easily explore various sightseeing spots across Greater Taichung using buses, the BRT, and iBike.

Based on the Transportation Bureau’s plan, two new rental stations will be added in early October — one at Chongqing Park and another at Fuxing Park. Before the end of October, four more rental stations will be completed: at the intersection of Hanhsing and Fuxing North Road, BRT Dinghecuo Station, Gongyi Daying Street Intersection, and Chang’an Elementary School. The goal is to establish 20 stations by the end of this year and complete 60 stations across all of Taichung City by the end of next year.
