Taoyuan Land Art Festival Draws Crowds During Holiday; Florentijn Hofman to Celebrate with Public Tonight

The Taoyuan Land Art Festival, which opened on September 4, welcomed its first wave of holiday visitors today (September 6). According to the organizers, crowds began gathering at the venue this morning, and while exact numbers have not yet been tallied, it is estimated that visitor numbers will continue to rise in the afternoon.

The Taoyuan County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that an opening gala for the Land Art Festival is scheduled for tonight. In addition to performances by the Punch Percussion Ensemble and Light Fantasy, Spain’s La Fura dels Baus theater troupe will deliver the closing act. Artist Florentijn Hofman, globally renowned for creating the Yellow Duck, has also specially created a 25-meter-tall artwork titled “Moon Rabbit” for this festival. Hofman himself will appear at the event tonight to enjoy the art and celebrate the holiday with the public.
