With cold fronts hitting, nothing beats soaking in a warm hot spring. The Beitou and Yangmingshan area has no shortage of affordable hot spring resorts, many of which also offer meals. ETtoday Travel Cloud has rounded up six hot spring resorts in Taipei where you can dine and soak for as little as NT$400.

1. Chuan Tang Hot Spring Health Cuisine
Chuan Tang Hot Spring is designed with a Japanese aesthetic. The shops along the street are themed after traditional Japanese machiya buildings, and even the music is Japanese enka, making you feel like you're in Kyoto. In addition to private hot spring rooms and an open-air public bath, the resort also offers Taiwanese health cuisine, Japanese food, coffee, and beer. Dine for over NT$400 and enjoy free hot spring access; soaking only costs NT$200 per person.

2. Huang Chi
Also located on Xingyi Road, Huang Chi Hot Spring is a highly rated option. The resort’s pride is its rare green sulfur spring (radium spring), said to be found only in Beitou and Japan’s Tamagawa Onsen. Nestled among mountains, the overall decor has a Japanese touch. The semi-open-air SPA features a Japanese garden design, offering good ventilation, natural light, and privacy. Besides the hot springs, netizens highly recommend the “Huang Chi Clay Pot Congee,” which is generous in portion.

3. Caoshan Cultural Hot Spring Resort
Caoshan Cultural Hot Spring is a long-standing, affordable hot spring. Soaking only costs NT$200 per person. The pools are made of premium Guanyin stone, and the water is rich in white sulfur with a strong sulfur aroma, known to promote blood circulation. The resort covers a large area and includes facilities like an open-air garden with ultrasonic hydrotherapy SPA, family-friendly pools, a karaoke room, and conference rooms. Its elevated location also offers great night views after soaking.

4. Beitou Qinghuang Famous Hot Springs
Just a few minutes’ walk from Beitou MRT Station, like Huangchi, it is one of the world’s rare Qinghuang radium springs. Public nude bath: 120 NTD; double bath room starts at 350 NTD, and you can also use the hot spring fish spa for free for 30 minutes. Open 24 hours, you can soak even late at night.

5. Sun Moon Farm
Established in 1979, Sun Moon Farm, which values simplicity and nature, is part of the Machang Hot Spring area. It takes about 5 minutes by car from Qidinggang in Yangmingshan to reach Sun Moon Farm. The naturally flowing white sulfur spring is abundant, with the water being translucent yellow-white in color and having a strong sulfur smell. All hot spring pools are built with stones, giving them a very rustic feel. Besides soaking, this is also a farm that raises chickens, ducks, geese and other poultry, making it a great spot combining hot springs with ecological leisure.

6. Machang Flower Art Village
Located in a secluded forest surrounded by greenery, netizens who have soaked here praise its high cost-performance. It has a vast area with 20 wooden double bath rooms, as well as male and female public pools and a free foot-soaking pool. The restaurant is famous for Chinese cuisine, with mountain produce, vegetables, stir-fries, and native chicken dishes all on the menu. Most people dine here after their soak, and there is also a tea house where you can relax and enjoy tea.
