What to do in Kinmen this autumn and winter? Explore the off-limits tunnel war zones

In addition to watching cormorants and searching for wind lion gods, winter travelers to Kinmen should also experience its unique war zone mysteries. To this end, the Kinmen County Government has organized a series of tourism events, including the "Sorghum Old Street Wind Lion God Culture Festival" from September 20 to October 20 and the "War Zone Tourism Art Festival" from October 15 to November 30, which also features war zone mysteries open only in winter, hoping to attract visitors in autumn and winter as well.

The "2014 Sorghum Old Street Wind Lion God Culture Festival" includes activities such as wind lion god sketching, photography, color painting exhibitions, trolley rides to find wind lion gods, cultural park tours, salt field visits, and old street cultural excursions. On September 27, there will also be a cultural parade performance, food fair, and evening gala. During the "War Zone Tourism Art Festival," the "winter-exclusive" sites—including Guanghua Garden, Tahou Broadcasting Station, Kinmen East Theatre, Shishan Gun Emplacement (an unopened branch tunnel), and Qingtian Water Plant—are open to the public for free, normally inaccessible locations.

Additionally, to promote independent travel to Kinmen during the winter, the Kinmen County Government has launched the "Loving Wudao: Winter Travel in Kinmen" discount booklet. The booklet combines discounts on food, entertainment, accommodation, and transportation, with bird-watching, wind lion god hunting, and war zone mysteries as the main recommended itineraries. The booklet is valid for use from September 20, 2014, to March 31, 2015.
