Osaka Castle to Unveil a "Kingdom of Light" – Japan’s Largest Illumination Show Debuts in December

Do you remember the spectacular and luxurious "Osaka Castle 3D Projection Mapping Show" that made its debut at Osaka Castle last December? This year, Osaka Castle has once again partnered with Huis Ten Bosch, not only bringing back the show but also simultaneously presenting what is claimed to be Japan’s largest illumination event at Nishinomaru within the castle grounds. The dazzling display will run from December 13 through March 1 of next year (2015)!

Whether it’s roaring flames or lifelike, colorful butterflies dancing across the castle walls, last year’s collaboration between the Osaka Tourism Bureau and the renowned Huis Ten Bosch—famous for its stunning light designs—created a grand stage for light art at Osaka Castle. It remains fresh in many people’s memories. Although the organizers have yet to announce full details of this year’s event, one thing is certain: this year’s show will be even more magnificent and spectacular than last year’s.

This year’s ticket prices are again divided into regular tickets and platinum packages. Platinum ticket holders enjoy priority entry, access to a specially designated viewing area with the best views, and a complimentary cup of coffee. Tickets are now on sale atthe Huis Ten Bosch shopping websiteand at convenience stores.
