Penghu Hosts Its First “Island-Hopping Carnival” – Enjoy Spectacular Fireworks Over the Sea Without Waiting Until Next Year

Still reminiscing about the beauty of this year’s Penghu Maritime Fireworks Festival? For the first time, the Penghu County Government is holding a series of events under the “Island-Hopping Carnival.” Six themed activities bring together local cuisine, blue highways, sports events, and scenic gourmet experiences — each one accompanied by dazzling fireworks, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the charm of Penghu’s summer and autumn through in-depth travel.

August 19
Kicking off with “Explore Penghu via Blue Highways,” and in light of the launch of the Longbu Route in April this year, activities aim to encourage visitors to experience various maritime blue routes such as the Longbu, Mabu, and Magao routes. Events include a boat ticket lottery and summer camp activities like check-ins at the Dragon Gate Undersea Tunnel, all set against the unbeatable backdrop of the Dragon Gate Harbor sunset and nighttime fireworks, offering tourists a brand-new experience exploring Taiwan and Penghu.

August 28
For the Qixi Valentine’s Day event, there will be a wedding dress fashion show and a beach concert on the romantic landscape beach. As the sun sets and night falls, the fireworks blooming in the sky create a romantic Valentine’s experience in one of the world’s most beautiful bays.

September 11
A two-week “Roll On, Magong!” old town rock festival kicks off, featuring heritage shop tours in Magong City, storytelling tours of Magong, and street parades with the Global Tourism Queen and Penghu’s ceremonial palanquin, blending tradition and modernity to present a unique take on “Magong City.”

September 22
From (Friday) to the 24th, the sixth edition of the “Fate Awaits！Rock Music Festival” grandly opens at Historic Park, where audiences can enjoy a combined rock stage featuring local and international bands from the UK, US, and across Taiwan. In the evening, fireworks will also light up Guanyin Pavilion next to Historic Park.

With autumn arriving in September, it’s also the best season for sports tourism. A series of running and sporting events will be held successively across Penghu.

September 2
(Saturday), the “2017 Run Toward the World’s Most Beautiful Bay” race features a runners’ night, where beautiful fireworks welcome athletes and tourists alike.

On September 30 (Saturday) at Guanyin Pavilion, the “IRONMAN International Triathlon” event pays tribute to all indomitable courage with spectacular fireworks, allowing participants and visitors to experience Penghu’s Autumn of Bravery together.
