Star Cruises announced that it will donate S$30,000 (approximately NT$723,000) and auction off some cabins to support the “Wishing Well for Children” programme by the Singapore Children’s Society, aiming to assist children, youth, and underprivileged families.
Maurice Nhan, a director of the “Wishing Well for Children” programme, said that the children supported by the programme come from families with a per capita income of less than S$625 (approximately NT$15,063), and the donation will help more children in need.
In addition to this donation and auction, Star Cruises previously invited underprivileged children and youth from the “Wishing Well for Children” programme to celebrate Children’s Day on board the “SuperStar Gemini” and experience a series of shipboard activities. Ng Ming Faat, Senior Vice President of Star Cruises’ Sales Department, said he hopes to create a brighter future for these children through even small efforts.
