Five direct flights to Ho Chi Minh City per week | VietJet Air officially launches service on December 12

In addition to generating attention by holding bikini fashion shows for flight attendants on board, low-cost airline VietJet Air has once again become a hot topic among the public due to a series of provocative bikini photos of flight attendants, which appear to be promotional in nature. According to Chen An-yin, deputy general manager of Huan Yang Travel Agency, VietJet Air’s Taiwanese general agent, the airline plans to officially start flying the Taipei–Ho Chi Minh City route on December 12 this year, with flights operating every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Chen An-yin said that VietJet Air is the second-largest airline in Vietnam and also has an extensive domestic flight network. In recent years, it has been actively expanding its international presence, having recently launched routes to Seoul, Russia, and other international destinations. In addition to beginning flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Taipei in December, the airline also plans to launch services to Japan from Ho Chi Minh City in the future.

Chen An-yin also noted that VietJet Air currently offers ticket prices approximately 15–20% lower than those of traditional airlines in Vietnam. Although the exact fare for the Taipei–Ho Chi Minh route has not yet been confirmed, the airline plans to use this price difference as a benchmark when setting fares.

It is understood that VietJet Air’s current flight schedule for the Taipei–Ho Chi Minh City route is as follows: departures are scheduled every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 20:00, arriving at 22:30; return flights depart at 14:30 and arrive at 18:55. In contrast, Vietnam Airlines, a traditional carrier, departs at 07:45 and arrives at 10:15, with return flights leaving at 16:30 and arriving at 21:05.
