Step out of your room and you’re on the beach ! Thailand is the “country with the most seaside hotels in the world”

Thailand has become a top holiday destination for travelers worldwide, and its stunning beaches have also become the hottest spots for hotel clusters. The Thai Seaside Club ranked Thailand as the “world’s most renowned seaside resort destination,” with 1,270 seaside hotels, guesthouses, and resorts—ranking first in the world, ahead of the United States (1,016), Mexico (943), Spain (736), and the Philippines (591). This means travelers can step out of their hotel and enjoy the beach right away.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand stated that this ranking includes hotels where there are no obstacles or roads between the accommodation and the beach, rather than those that market themselves as seaside resorts but are located in areas with “fake beaches.” In addition, Thailand’s Koh Samui was also selected as one of the “world’s most popular resort islands” and won the Global Beach Destination Award for having the most beachfront hotels in a single destination. There are a total of 270 hotels along the beaches of Koh Samui. Koh Samui beat out well-known spots such as Playa del Carmen in Mexico, Mallorca in Spain, and Crete in the Mediterranean.
