China Airlines' First B777-300ER Arrives in Taiwan Within Four Days   In-Flight WiFi Costs NT$300 per Hour

China Airlines' first Boeing 777-300ER aircraft has finally been officially delivered and is expected to arrive at Taoyuan Airport at 9 p.m. on the 4th. China Airlines also stated that this new aircraft will be deployed on long-haul routes, with its first flight to Los Angeles in December.

This Boeing 777-300ER model has a total of 358 seats, including 40 premium business class seats, 62 premium economy class seats, and 256 economy class seats. The premium business class features first-class-level, full-flat reclining seats that are 78 inches (198 cm) long.

Additionally, the premium economy class is the first cabin class introduced by China Airlines on the 777 model. The seat pitch is increased to 39 inches (100 cm), and the fixed-backrest design ensures that leaning back does not disturb passengers in the rear seats, while personal space is also unaffected by those in front.

For in-flight entertainment, the China Airlines 777-300ER aircraft also introduces the Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system, which includes a free airborne social app called “Seat Chat,” turning the entire cabin into a large virtual chat room. Screen sizes vary by cabin class: 18 inches for premium business class, and 12.1 inches and 11.1 inches for premium economy and economy classes, respectively.

As for the most anticipated in-flight WiFi service, it will be offered on a paid basis, with options of USD $11.95 for 1 hour, USD $16.95 for 3 hours, and USD $21.95 for 24 hours. The service will automatically activate when the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet.

China Airlines' first Boeing 777-300ER is expected to be deployed on the “Taipei–Los Angeles” round-trip route this December. Starting next year, it will also be gradually added to the Taipei–New York and Taipei–San Francisco routes.
