Want to cycle through Tamsui’s streets and alleys or enjoy the riverside scenery along the way? Now, in addition to YouBike, the Tamsui Historic Sites Museum also offers a free bike rental service. Visitors can simply park at the Fort San Domingo parking lot and borrow the “Fort San Domingo Bike” for a whole day by showing their ID.

Liao Wenqing, director of the Tamsui Historic Sites Museum, said that the “Fort San Domingo Bike” has a bright and attractive design, aiming to make it convenient for visitors to ride around after parking at the Fort San Domingo parking lot, so they can explore historic sites such as Fort San Domingo, the Small White House, the Hobe Fort, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Tamsui. The fort also provides free bike locks for visitors to borrow. As long as you park at the parking lot, you can leave your ID as a deposit and borrow a bike for a full-day ride, returning it by 9 PM. Visitors can enjoy the sunset, stroll through the old street, and then return the bike – it’s very convenient.

In addition to free bike rentals, Fort San Domingo also has a simple bike maintenance station where passing cyclists can take a break, inflate their tires for free, and get minor repairs done, allowing them to continue their cycling journey with peace of mind.
