A verdant farm to roam in days to come — Hualien’s “Faye Wong Prairie” goes viral

While Taitung has the viral tree of Takeshi Kaneshiro, Hualien now has the “Faye Wong Prairie”! At the end of September, the pop diva Faye Wong was spotted in Fenglin Township shooting a commercial for the Chinese mainland. Wearing a white shirt and riding boots, she strolled through the emerald-green grassland, expressing the beauty of nature. Thanks to her visit, the lush green field at the farm has once again become a hot topic and is now dubbed the “Faye Wong Prairie.”

Lü Yunya, planning specialist at Shin Kong Zhuo Feng Farm, said the farm spans a total of 726 hectares, and the area where the crew filmed was previously off-limits. However, after Faye Wong’s visit sparked curiosity and discussion among travelers, the farm decided to officially open the site to the public starting October 10, preserving all the props used during the shoot for visitors to take photos with. Lü added that Hualien boasts a wealth of attractions, but Fenglin Township is a relatively small Hakka village. With Faye Wong’s visit, they hope to help travelers get to know the area better.

The Faye Wong Prairie has been open year-round since October 10. In the first three days after opening, five dairy cows accompanied visitors on the prairie, but Lü explained that as the cows are not yet accustomed to human interaction, future access will depend on their adaptation and visitor flow.
