The first restaurant established in Taiwan by three-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno
Rumors about the arrival of the Michelin Guide in Taiwan have been circulating since 2016. In an interview with Commonwealth Magazine, STAY’s chairman, Chiu Tai-han, once stated that if the restaurant did not earn two Michelin stars in the Taiwan edition, he would no longer operate STAY. However, before the Michelin Guide made its debut in Taiwan, STAY has come to an end due to lease expiration and operational adjustments, with September 30 being its final day of service.
The full statement from STAY By Yannick Alléno is as follows:
To our valued and beloved guests:
In 2011, we invited three-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno to establish his first restaurant in Taiwan at this location
Since our opening, whether it was classic traditional French cuisine or creative dishes incorporating local ingredients, we managed to keep Taipei in sync with global food trends, delivering them in real time. Our team was committed to providing the highest level of service and food quality to our honored guests. In addition to receiving recognition from numerous food authorities and gourmets, we strived to make everyone who visited feel truly at home. Here, we shared life’s important moments with you: dates, proposals, family gatherings, celebrations... and now, saying goodbye at this time fills us with deep regret.
All good things must come to an end. Due to lease expiration and operational adjustments, September 30 will be our final day serving you. A new project planned for launch in the fourth quarter is currently in active development. We sincerely thank all our cherished
STAY By Yannick Alléno and Sweet Tea
