The “Caoshan Police Station,” located on Yangmingshan, has recently been spared from demolition due to its significant historical value and well-preserved condition. It has been designated as a historic building by the Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau.

Built in 1934, the “Caoshan Police Station” was designed by the renowned Japanese colonial-era architect Uchida Kochi. It is situated near other important structures such as the Grass Mountain Imperial Guesthouse and the former Grass Mountain Public Bath, and served as a law enforcement facility in the region during the Japanese occupation.

The building features a distinctive blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles, with a small rain shelter and double posts at the front, and a wooden dormitory section at the rear. Its well-proportioned design has led to its recognition as a historic building worthy of preservation.
