Universal Studios may no longer be a novelty, but South Korea’s Jeju Island will debut a brand-new movie-themed theme park in 2019. Its biggest highlight? Movies like *Twilight* and *The Hunger Games* will be featured in the park, especially through outdoor 4D scenes, which has movie buffs and theme park enthusiasts around the world buzzing with excitement.
This movie-themed theme park is located within the “Jeju Shinhwa World” resort and is developed by Lionsgate Films, the studio behind hit movies such as *Twilight*, *The Hunger Games*, and *Saw*, covering an area of over 120,000 square meters.

Aside from thrilling rides, the park will feature 4D streetscapes that replicate movie scenes, entertainment shows, themed restaurants, and souvenir shops. Currently, seven major themes are planned: *Twilight*, *The Hunger Games*, *Saw*, *Divergent*, *Haunt*, *Now You See Me*, and next year’s new release *Robin Hood*.

Dubbed a world-class resort theme park, “Jeju Shinhwa World” spans 2.5 million square meters and is divided into seven major mythological theme zones, hotels, a casino, and 20 rides and attractions. Officials say it began opening in phases starting 2017, with three main zones — the theme park, food zone, and shopping zone — scheduled to officially open in November this year. The water park is expected to open in mid-2018, while the movie-themed theme park will debut in 2019.
In addition, the “YG Town” K-pop village, jointly developed with YG Entertainment — South Korea’s largest K-star agency — will gather numerous Korean brands and offer K-POP performances. With G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) as its ambassador, K-pop fans are sure to go wild. This wave of tourism is bound to create a global sensation.
