Conquer a 100-meter cave adventure tunnel—Asia’s first caving experience launches in Tainan!

Asia’s first-ever caving adventure is set to debut in Tainan’s Beitou District. Slated to open in 2015, this innovative caving system will offer the public an entirely new and thrilling adventure experience!

There are currently only seven man-made caving sites in the world—all located in the UK. The one in Tainan’s Beitou District will be the first of its kind outside of Britain and the very first system in all of Asia. With a total tunnel length exceeding 100 meters and an entrance diameter of 0.6 meters, the cave interior is designed with stalagmites, stalactites, fossils, and murals. Through these artistic cave paintings, the history of human evolution will unfold before visitors’ eyes. This unique caving experience will satisfy thrill-seekers’ appetite for adventure and their curiosity to explore. In the future, local snack stalls are also planned around the site, allowing visitors to enjoy both the excitement of the adventure and the delicious memories of mouthwatering treats.

The Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration has invited the public to help name the caving tunnel. From now until December 25, people can vote on the naming at the official Facebook fan page of the Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Administration: “Southwest Coast, So Much Fun!!!”. Everyone who participates in the naming activity will have a chance to win a Hedgehog Boy postcard set through a lucky draw—50 sets will be given away.
