New Taipei City's 2014 "Happy New Taipei Balloon Parade" kicked off with a bang on the 13th as part of the Happy Christmas Town event. This year, the OPEN family joined in to boost the fun, with 16 beloved cartoon character balloons making an appearance, filling the streets of Banqiao with vibrant, joyful colors.

This year’s New Taipei Christmas parade featured not only an impressive mounted police unit leading a police band, muscular firefighters, postal service motorcades, the Banqiao High School marching band, the Haishan High School marching band, and the Zhuangjing Vocational High School belly dance club from local schools—but also a stellar lineup of 16 cartoon character balloons including the OPEN family (OPEN Xiaojiang, LOCK Xiajiang, Barcode Cat) and international icons like Hello Kitty and SpongeBob SquarePants. Their grand entrance instantly became the highlight of the event, adding even more excitement and energy to the procession, and leaving children and adults alike cheering in delight.
