A kawaii-style dessert shop — enjoy a thick slice of toast in a world full of adorable plush toys

Even I think this breakfast spot is too cute for words!!

2gether has several branches in Taipei, and this time I visited the most conveniently located Qingguang branch. If you're taking the MRT, get off at Minquan West Road Station (I rode my Ubike there). The shop is right next to Qingguang Market, so it's easy to find. (Right across the street is another quite famous brunch spot, Sabrina House 纱汀娜好食)

This shop is best known for its various types of thick-sliced toast (thick bread), and I came because I saw their marshmallow toast, which looked super exciting. On weekdays before 10:00 AM, they offer a discounted breakfast combo — choose any half panini plus a drink for NT$59/69.

Having dessert for breakfast is a bit odd, but I couldn’t finish two portions on my own (and didn’t want to waste food). After thinking it over for a long time, I ended up ordering the marshmallow toast (NT$55). For the drink, I picked something a bit more unique: a beauty-enhancing fruit vinegar beverage — Apple Cider Vinegar Iced Tea (NT$55) — to balance my taste buds with a bit of sourness from working on different things.

The marshmallow toast does look appealing, but the flavor wasn’t all that outstanding. It’s made with thick toast, butter, and marshmallows toasted together, then drizzled with chocolate sauce and condensed milk. This combination is generally a safe bet, but the ingredients weren’t selected with the greatest care. The toast wasn’t very crispy and was a bit hard to tear apart, and the sweetness of the marshmallows was a little off.

I actually quite liked the apple cider vinegar iced tea. It wasn’t overly sour and had aloe vera bits you could bite into, giving a refreshing, gut-cleansing feel. It left me feeling light afterward. The cup design was also thoughtfully done.

The shop also sells merchandise featuring its own brand mascot, which shows a lot of care went into the accessory design. The environment is super cute and would make any girl happy to take photos, but I do think the ingredients could be chosen more carefully — after all, food is the most important thing.
