Santa Claus rides his sleigh through the windows – Taichung Prefectural Hall’s Centennial 3D Light Show Debuts

With Christmas just around the corner, festive cheer is in the air everywhere. To celebrate the holiday season, Taichung Prefectural Hall will present a 20-minute “Building ‘Light’ Taichung 3D Light Show” on three consecutive Saturdays starting now, featuring a special Christmas and New Year edition story that will make weekend evenings in Taichung even more magical.

The Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this light show is a specially designed “Glorious Century 3D Light Show” to celebrate the hall’s centennial. At night, the hall will be transformed into a golden rice field under beams of light, recreating the architectural blueprints drawn by Japanese designers, then shifting into a futuristic high-tech structure. The ingenious interplay of time and space continues to evolve with light, sound, and music, taking audiences back to the past and forward to the future, while also commemorating the centennial elegance of Taichung Prefectural Hall.

In addition, this year’s show includes a special approximately 4-minute “Christmas and New Year Edition,” using vibrant colors to blanket Taichung Prefectural Hall in a snow-white landscape. As the lights change, viewers can enjoy the sight of starlight gently falling from the sky, instantly transforming into the sparkling decorations of a Christmas tree. Santa Claus will also be seen sledding through the hall’s windows, bringing snowflake-like surprises and gifts, spreading festive cheer to all.
