A line of people winds out from an old tin shack—what are they all queuing for? This is “Ye Mack’s Fried Chicken” in Xinhua, Tainan, a local favorite that always draws huge crowds when it’s open. Originally located at the Taisun Palace in Xinhua District, it has since moved to Zhongxiao Road in Xinhua District. The food cart and fortune truck remain, but now there’s a tin shack for shelter from wind and rain. Ye Mack’s Fried Chicken is super affordable: chicken legs for NT$30, chicken wings for NT$15, nuggets for NT$20 each, and salt-and-pepper chicken for NT$30 per portion.
