See Changhua from a three-story height – A 1,000-meter skywalk to open next March

The concept of “skywalks” is all the rage, and Changhua’s Baguashan area will soon have an aerial bridge stretching over 1,000 meters. This skywalk will connect seven major local landmarks including the Baguashan Scenic Area and the County Art Museum. It will serve not only as a new leisure spot for locals to stroll but also as an emerging tourist attraction where visitors from other regions can enjoy panoramic views of Baguashan. The project is expected to be completed by next March.

The Baguashan Giant Buddha Scenic Area is a well-known tourist destination across Taiwan, celebrated for its scenic beauty and spiritual significance. It is a culturally diverse site integrating art, ecology, and education. The Changhua County Government stated that to encourage visitors to spend more time in Changhua and provide residents with a new recreational space, a skywalk is being constructed within the Baguashan Scenic Area.

The skywalk stretches 1,005.84 meters in length and stands three stories high. Its design primarily utilizes recyclable, green building materials. Wildlife can move freely beneath it, minimizing environmental disruption. Meanwhile, the entire walkway uses low-level lighting to avoid disturbing wildlife habitats while still ensuring visitor safety at night. There are seven entry and exit points along the route, linking key sites such as the Baguashan Scenic Area, ecological zones, Changhua Arts High School, Changhua Museum of Fine Arts, the County Art Museum, and the public library. With the rich biodiversity of the Baguashan Scenic Area, future visitors will not only enjoy the iconic Giant Buddha statue but also take in the diverse beauty of Changhua’s mountains and cityscapes.
