The National Taichung Theater will close for renovation on January 1st—the outdoor plaza remains unaffected.

The National Taichung Theater, which opened in November this year, willbegin its scheduled closure for renovation on January 1st.After the final performance of the pop musical "Hope Station" by the Up Theater Troupe on December 31st, all guided tours and activities inside the theater will be suspended, including the restaurant located on the south side of the first-floor lobby, which will also close. However, the outdoor spaces outside the theater remain unaffected, and the fountain will continue its water dance performances.

Chen Yong-xin, a specialist commissioner at the Taichung City Government’s Construction Bureau, stated that this renovation will address certain building deficiencies and improve the surrounding green spaces, including upgrades to the main stage flooring materials as well as the integration of lighting and sound systems. The completion schedule has not yet been determined.
