Michelin-starred chef pop-up dinners are now available in southern Taiwan too. This year, Tainan Crystal Hotel has specially invited the team from Hong Kong’s Michelin one-star "Hangzhou Restaurant" to cross the strait and collaborate with Taiwan’s banquet king Chef Ah Yong and renowned Cantonese chef Chef Ah Qiang. The dinner is priced at NT$19,800 for a table of ten or NT$1,980 per person.
The Hong Kong-based Hangzhou Restaurant’s Chef Wu Ruikang, invited by Tainan Crystal Hotel, is widely known as the “heir of Hangzhou cuisine.” Born into a family of chefs in Hangzhou with four generations of culinary heritage, his father Wu Guoliang is hailed as Hangzhou’s top chef. Chef Wu Ruikang’s Hangzhou Restaurant in Hong Kong is the world’s first Hangzhou-style restaurant to be awarded a Michelin one-star.
