Taipei’s “Cherry Blossom Viewing Cheat Sheet” Is Here: 150 Spots to Check Out

Pink cherry blossoms are just beginning to bloom on the branches, and cherry blossom season is fast approaching. The Taipei City Government has specially launched“Cherry Blossom Page”, compiling over 150 cherry blossom viewing spots across the city so that residents can stay updated on the latest bloom conditions and head out to enjoy the flowers on weekends.

This year, the Taipei City Government tasked various municipal agencies with organizing over 150 distinctive cherry blossom viewing spots around the city and aggregating the information. Through the “Cherry Blossom Page,” the public can easily find out where cherry blossoms can be viewed in Taipei, predicted blooming times, the number of cherry blossom trees, varieties, as well as current blooming conditions.

According to the page, the most recommended spots include Section 42, Pingjing Street, the Cherry Blossom Grove in Yangmingshan Park, and the Wu Ancestral Hall in Beitou. Among them, the Wu Ancestral Hall, which has 30 mountain cherry trees, currently has about 10% of its blossoms open. The best time to view the cherry blossoms is expected from now until early February.
