Really? In Taipei, it’s hard to find beef noodle soup for 100 NTD, but you can actually get ramen from Japan? Yes, the direct-operated "Tetsu Men" from the Japanese head office has been open for a while at Eslite Spectrum Ximending Store 116 in Taipei. The menu is very simple, offering only pork bone ramen and oil-mixed dry noodles (油拌面), both priced at 100 NTD. If you’re worried about not getting full, you can opt for the larger portion of pork bone ramen at 120 NTD.
Tetsu Men’s broth is made by simmering pork bones, resulting in a rich, oily flavor—but customers can adjust the richness by informing the staff when ordering. The shop is very small, accommodating only around ten customers at a time. Despite its compact size, the shop emphasizes that you can enjoy the same taste as at the Japanese head office. To ensure quality, the head chef from Japan came to Taiwan, though only until February 9th.
Unlike other Japanese ramen shops, Tetsu Men also offers takeout service. The shop provides two containers—one for the noodles and one for the soup. When you're ready to eat, simply pour the soup into the noodle container, mix the noodles, and enjoy.
In addition to extra noodles, you can also add an egg, green onions, or wood ear mushrooms for 20 NTD. If you’d like to add char siu (barbecued pork), it costs 50 NTD.
