Korea’s Largest Resort “Jeju Shinhwa World” to Open in October – GD Cafe a Must-Visit

Jeju Island in South Korea has a new attraction to offer. Spanning 2.5 million square meters—about the size of 350 soccer fields—“Jeju Shinhwa World” is an innovative integrated resort that combines a theme park, food street, duty-free shops, and resort hotel apartments all in one premium destination. It will open at the end of September or early October and has enlisted G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) as its global ambassador. The resort also features the “GD Cafe” designed by GD himself, making it a new pilgrimage site for fans.

Covering approximately 2.5 million square meters, Jeju Shinhwa World is Korea’s first top-tier integrated resort. Facilities include a “Cartoon Theme Park” in collaboration with renowned animation company TUBAn; the world’s first “Lionsgate Entertainment World,” developed in partnership with U.S.-based Lionsgate; and a “YG Entertainment Town” in cooperation with well-known Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment. It also houses Jeju Island’s largest water park, its biggest commercial food street, and a collection of renowned hotel and residence brands including Four Seasons, Marriott, L’Paradis, and Shinhwa, offering more than 2,000 rooms. This mythical world promises fun for travelers of all ages.

Jeju Shinhwa World will open in three phases starting this year. The first phase includes the Shinhwa Residences by Somerset, which opened in April, while the Shinhwa Theme Park and YG Entertainment Town are set to open at the end of September or early October. By December of this year, the 610-room Shinhwa Resort Hotel by L’Paradis, the 631-room Shinhwa Resort Hotel by Marriott, the L’Paradis Casino, and the Shinhwa Commercial Food Street will all begin operations.

Among the facilities opening early, the “YG Entertainment Town” is not to be missed. The GD Cafe within the town was personally designed and curated by G-Dragon, offering a full GD experience. The town also features bowling, bars, shopping, and dining options, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of YG Entertainment.

The second phase of Jeju Shinhwa World is scheduled to open in 2018, featuring the Shinhwa Resort Hotel by Shinhwa, ideal for family travelers. Located next to the water park and YG Entertainment Town, it will also see the opening of what is touted as Jeju Island’s largest water park. The final phase is expected to open in 2019, introducing the world’s first “Lionsgate Entertainment World” as well as the Shinhwa Resort Hotel by Four Seasons, which offers private villas and the option to host luxury weddings.
