It feels so heartwarming — a breakfast shop’s temporary closure notice turns into an encouragement message board

A breakfast shop in Banqiao, Yuan Zhi Wei, recently posted a notice saying that after seven years in operation, they had lost their motivation and direction, and would be closing for a few days. They apologized sincerely to their regulars and asked for their patience. But possibly because the shop has always treated customers with heartfelt sincerity, the notice quickly became filled with encouraging words from familiar faces, turning it into a message board of support. When there was no more room, some people even brought sticky notes for others to write words of cheer.

The various words of encouragement were truly touching, such as “Take all the rest you need, but come back soon — we all need you!” “It’s been so inconvenient for our whole family with the breakfast shop closed!” “Please reopen soon, I’ve been coming here since the second grade!” “We miss the owner’s smile and your service.” “The owner is so nice, please come back soon.” Some also joked half-seriously, “Everyone needs a break!! If you don’t open, should I just eat dirt??” Others even wrote down their favorite menu items directly on the notice.

The owners probably never expected that what started as a simple notice about taking a break due to lost motivation would turn into a board full of encouragement from the community. They’re sure to be deeply moved when they see it.
