Located in Hsinchu, “A-Mei Yi’s Old-School Flavors” serves drinks loaded with tapioca pearls, sweet potato starch noodles, grass jelly, mini taro balls, and perilla leaves, paired with old-school brown sugar syrup. The toppings alone take up 70% of the cup. A 700ml drink costs just NT$50 and fills you right up.

Located near Hsinchu’s City God Temple, “A-Mei Yi’s Old-School Flavors” offers a variety of drinks including old-school brown sugar, winter melon, green plum, black tea, soy milk, fresh milk, special blends, and winter-limited series. The shop generously adds traditional toppings, with prices ranging from NT$35 to NT$55 per cup.

The story behind the shop’s founding is a touching one. “A-Mei Yi” was actually the name of the shop owner’s mother. After a tragic accident took her mother’s life, the owner started this drink shop to honor and continue her mother’s tradition of hand-stirred sugar and desserts, hoping to share those old-school flavors with nostalgic customers.
