Taiwan Hotels Invite Mainland China Culinary Collaboration: Quanjude vs. Shanghai State Guesthouse

In addition to inviting Michelin-starred European chefs, hotels are also starting to collaborate with mainland Chinese culinary establishments. The Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei has invited the Hongqiao Guesthouse to make a guest appearance in Taiwan, while the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Jiaoxi has partnered with the Quanjude Group to offer Beijing-style roast duck cuisine.

The Hongqiao Guesthouse is known as the “State Guesthouse of Shanghai” and frequently hosts heads of state from various countries. Its Hu cuisine is considered top-tier in the industry. This time, it has been invited by the Far Eastern Hotel to make a guest appearance at Shanghai’s Drunken Moon Restaurant from March 5 to March 14. Meanwhile, the Quanjude Group, known as the “No. 1 Roast Duck Restaurant in China,” has partnered with the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Jiaoxi, with the collaboration running from March 1 to April 15 — a full 45 days.
