Narita Airport to Open 130-Meter "Layover-Only SKY LOUNGE" in Late April

Narita Airport is buzzing with activity this year!\nIn addition to the launch of its third terminal dedicated to low-cost carriers in April, Terminal 2 has created a brand-new, spacious lounge area for passengers waiting for their flights or layovers. After selecting the name from 866 submissions, the lounge has officially been named “NARITA SKY LOUNGE 和” and will open on April 24.

The “NARITA SKY LOUNGE 和” is located in the departure area of Terminal 2, stretching 130 meters and covering 2,200 square meters (approximately 666 tsubo). Designed with a traditional Japanese aesthetic in mind, the space features tatami mats, shoji screens, and other elements to offer international travelers a rich taste of traditional Japanese culture.

Narita Airport explained that the name “SKY LOUNGE 和” was chosen because it is easy for foreign visitors to understand, and the character “和” (wa) subtly conveys the lounge's commitment to a traditional Japanese design. This made it the ideal official name.

Narita Airport also noted that future tenants inside the SKY LOUNGE will include the “FaSoLa Cafe coffee & beer,” where travelers can enjoy the airport view while passing the time; “ラフィネ” (La Finé), offering comfortable relaxation after long-haul flights; and the highly popular traditional Japanese confectionery shop “宗家 源 吉兆庵” (Souke Motoyoshi Kitchoan), known for using seasonal ingredients and favored by international visitors—ensuring the most pleasant layover experience possible.
