The Qingshui Service Area is building a "five-star lounge" to let drivers sleep for free for 30 minutes

Highway rest stops will offer drivers a five-star sleeping experience. The National Freeway Bureau said that, to provide drivers with a better resting environment, it will build a five-star lounge at the Qingshui Service Area and install three high-end sleep-enhancing single beds claimed to help users “fall asleep in a second.” These beds will be placed inside the lounge, accompanied by soothing music to help travelers relax and fall asleep.

Currently, there are about six highway service areas that offer driver rest lounges. Among them, the Hukou, Tai’an, and Xinying service areas not only provide simple beds but also have bathing facilities available for drivers to use for free. To improve the quality of rest, the National Freeway Bureau has specially created a five-star lounge at the Qingshui Service Area and installed three premium sleep-enhancing beds, which are said to help users “fall asleep in a second.” These are placed in the lounge along with relaxing background music to help travelers unwind and sleep.

Liu Fengliang, head of the Business Group at the National Freeway Bureau, stated that the new lounge is expected to begin service in mid to late April, with priority given to professional drivers who often face fatigue from long hours on the road. Other detailed usage regulations and reservation methods are still under planning.
