Want delicious meat and egg toast without going to Taichung? “San San Vitality Breakfast Shop” in Taipei’s Wenshan District serves the same great taste because the owners of both branches are family members who started their business together years ago.
The owners of “San San Vitality Breakfast Shop” began with a small roadside stall in Taichung, offering only ham toast and meat and egg toast. Mrs. Fu Huiehwa insisted on marinating the pork loin herself, and the toast made to order gradually gained popularity, making the original Taichung shop the first breakfast store in Taiwan to issue official receipts. Later, the owner He Zhongming moved north for work, leaving the Taichung store to be managed by Fu’s brother. The couple expanded their food business to Taipei, where they have now run their shop for 11 years.
Owner He Zhongming is from Hong Kong. After coming to Taiwan for studies, he met his wife, and the two decided to enter the food and beverage industry. Dedicated to quality ingredients, the couple handles everything from marinating pork chops to cooking pasta sauce themselves. The seemingly simple meat and egg toast actually involves a lot of know-how—even the untoasted bread plays a key role. It turns out that not toasting the bread is a Hong Kong-style method, but the freshness of the ingredients is the real secret.
The owner emphasized that the eggs used for breakfast are organic, which are more costly, and even the jam and seasonings, which are sold only a few portions per day, use products free from artificial additives, all to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. The owner proudly noted that during several food safety scandals, San San Breakfast Shop’s sales not only didn’t drop but increased.

Besides the signature meat and egg toast, the shop’s must-order dishes include scrambled egg toast, kimchi pork belly omelet, and cabbage omelet.
Meat and Egg Toast
The juicy pork loin is pan-fried until slightly crispy, paired with a soft sunny-side-up egg—every bite is pure happiness.
Scrambled Egg Toast
Improving upon the typically tangy Hong Kong-style egg salad, this scrambled egg toast offers a rich yet not overly sweet flavor, with chunks of whole egg, paired with soft toast. The silky egg salad melts in your mouth, making it truly addictive.

Kimchi Pork Belly Omelet
The No.1 popular omelet, the kimchi pork belly omelet, is a new flavor developed by Fu Huiehwa. She specially sourced non-spicy kimchi suitable for children. The crispy, slightly tangy omelet wraps tender, tangy kimchi and well-marinated pork belly, creating a true feast for the taste buds.
Cabbage Omelet
The final dish, the cabbage omelet, may seem simple, but it’s unique because it’s topped with mayonnaise and sprinkled with dried bonito flakes. The playful bonito flakes pair perfectly with the fresh cabbage. The generous ingredients make customers keep coming back. To maintain the omelet’s crispiness, the shop carefully punches holes in each takeout box to prevent moisture from affecting the texture.

The name “San San” comes from owner Fu Huiehwa’s belief that the number “three” represents many and is a lucky number, along with her fondness for reduplicated words. It’s catchy and easy to remember. The shop’s interior combines white and vibrant red, and over 11 years, the décor remains as good as new. The cozy space has made it a favorite weekend spot for families.

The couple, who now operate two shops, continuously learn new skills to improve quality for customers. They plan to introduce brunch at their Muzha second branch this year to train employees and will continue expanding, allowing staff to manage future branches. Going beyond employer-employee relationships, the owners view their young team as partners. Even nearing retirement, they are committed to doing more for their staff. “Never forget your original intention, and never give up” is the motto Fu Huiehwa uses to inspire the team. San San Breakfast Shop doesn’t just serve happy meals—it brings hope to this dedicated team.
