“Food” That Tastes Amazing – Taiwan’s Gourmet Food Exhibition Returns in July This Year

The Taiwan Gourmet Food Exhibition, which had been on hiatus for two years, is set to return in an expanded format at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 this July. This year’s edition focuses on a creative fusion of tableware, ingredients, and culinary skills. In addition to cooking competitions, major hotels and restaurants will be showcasing their dishes, offering tastings, and providing special discount vouchers.

The Taiwan Visitors Association stated that the competition includes preliminary rounds in four regions—northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan. Schools and professional chefs are welcome to form teams and register, with entries accepted until the end of March. Regional competitions begin on April 18, starting with the eastern division. The top four teams from each region with the highest points will advance to the finals, held from July 17 to 20. The overall winning team will represent Taiwan in next year’s international competition at the Gourmet Food Exhibition.

The food exhibition will feature five themed zones across sixteen pavilions. Among them, the theme pavilion “Fine Dining Taiwan” will invite dozens of renowned chefs from both China and abroad. They will collaborate with artist Wu Yisheng’s handmade Hualien ink jade tableware to create “gastronomic” style taste experiences through culinary craftsmanship and creative ideas.
