Where to go for the 4-day Children’s Day holiday? Take a geological trip along Neihu’s Dagou Stream

With a four-day-long Children’s Day holiday, besides cooling off in department stores or squeezing into crowded popular attractions, where else can you go? The Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department, Geotechnical Engineering Office, recommends a geological journey along Neihu’s Dagou Stream. The office has also installed various interpretive signs and related structural facilities here, giving children a chance to learn while enjoying outdoor excursions.

Dagou Stream is located at the end of Dahushan Villa Street in Neihu District, near the Ye Family Ancestral Temple. It boasts unique geological landscapes, including folds, rock stratum orientations and attitudes formed under different periods of surface forces, as well as a complete multi-layered forest. Ecological survey expert Liang [surname redacted] noted that the area is rich in biological diversity, offering a wealth of educational content. It is close to schools and convenient for family visits, making it an ideal destination for children to observe a wide variety of native plants and read different informative panels.
