Private Floral Gem in Bali: 120 Hectares of Pure White Pomelo Blossoms Bloom Along the Tamsui Riverbank

Spring has arrived, and that means it’s time for flowers, flowers, and more flowers！ In addition to the stunning views along the beautiful Tamsui River, New Taipei City’s Bali area also hides two secret pomelo blossom spots！ The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau says not only can you get up close to the white pomelo blossoms here, but you can also enjoy delicious pomelo-themed meals to celebrate the Qingming holiday.

The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau says there are two secret pomelo blossom spots: Xilongyan, a century-old temple in the Bali area, not only offers a panoramic view of the entire Taipei Harbor, but also boasts 70 hectares of blooming pomelo blossoms nearby. You can reach it by walking from Bali Ferry Pier along Niuliao Pu (Northern Route 52).

Another spot is Happy Orchard and Dorothy’s Forest. By heading along Qianqiankeng Road (Northern Route 49) from the Zhonghua intersection, you’ll find 50 hectares of pomelo orchards. From the roadside, you can get close to the blooming pomelo blossoms, immersing yourself in their fragrance as you explore deeper into Bali. You can also enjoy some of the most pomelo-flavored meals around.

Lin Cheng-song, Director-General of the Bali Farmers’ Association, says that Bali District has 233 hectares of pomelo cultivation, making it the largest pomelo-producing area in New Taipei City. The peak blooming period for pomelo blossoms is now through around Qingming Festival, lasting about three weeks. Though the blooming period is short, when the pomelo trees are in full bloom, their snow-white blossoms fill the air with an intoxicating fragrance that’s truly captivating.
