Explore Tainan’s hidden mangrove paradise “Beimen Shuangchun Recreational Area,” free until June

In recent years, Tainan’s Beimen area has become one of southern Taiwan’s popular tourist destinations, thanks to attractions such as the Crystal Chapel, wedding-themed art installations, and the Jingzihjiao Salt Fields. However, there’s another ecological gem in the region—the “Shuangchun Coastal Recreational Area” mangrove ecosystem—that’s worth a visit. The Tainan City Tourism Bureau announced that this recreational area is now free to enter until the end of June.

The Beimen Shuangchun Coastal Recreational Area is located between the Bazhang River and the Jishui River, making it the northernmost coastal area in Tainan City. It is managed under contract by the Tainan City Tourism Bureau. The park boasts rich natural landscapes and ecology. By walking along the wooden boardwalks deeper into the area, visitors can get an up-close look at the mangrove ecosystem, including sea hibiscus, kandelia candel, fiddler crabs, and mudskippers.
