Can shields and hammers be eaten? A restaurant gets creative with the Marvel revenge wave

The highly anticipated movie sequel *Avengers: Age of Ultron* will be released in Taiwan on April 22. Riding the wave of this cinematic craze, Dynasty Hotel has launched themed limited-edition treats — the “Captain America’s Shield Boston Cream Pie” and the “Mjolnir Toast.”

During the Lunar New Year holiday, Dynasty Hotel previously introduced a “Lucky Cake” designed with the Chinese character “發” (fortune) from the traditional game of mahjong. This time, capitalizing on the *Avengers* movie trend, in addition to offering discounts with movie stubs, the hotel has created two themed cakes inspired by the film: the “Captain America’s Shield Boston Cream Pie” and the “Mjolnir Toast.” The “Captain America’s Shield Boston Cream Pie” (7-inch, priced at NT$700) draws inspiration from Captain America, using a soft and fluffy Boston cream pie as the base, with a raspberry jelly decoration shaped like a shield on top. The “Mjolnir Toast” (NT$75), inspired by Thor, takes a croissant injected with sweet maple syrup, creating a 20x20x20 cm marble maple toast, and finally uses a baguette as the handle of the Mjolnir hammer.
