Rediscover the purest laughter amid the scent of rice fields. The Siraya National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, MOTC, has created the “Birds Startled Startled Startled” rice field landscape art installation next to Guantian Elementary School in Tainan. Using scarecrows, bird-scaring drums, and decorative flags, the artwork decorates the rice fields, delighting visitors with endless photo opportunities.

The “Birds Startled Startled Startled” installation combines environmental awareness with rural charm, using common farming materials such as fertilizer bags and buckets as creative elements. The project called on local residents to donate recycled clothing, transforming traditional “bird-scaring” tools into fun decorative flags, whimsical scarecrows, and bird-scaring drums. The entire rice field features 60 scarecrows, 70 decorative flags, and 12 bird-scaring drums for visitors to photograph. The exhibition runs from October 1 to October 31.
