Taichung’s “Forget-Worry Bus” scenic beauty is back to life again – endless green rice fields create an ultra-healing view

Remember that Forget-Worry Bus in Taichung? Situated in Waipu District, Taichung, Forget-Worry Valley sees its second-season rice paddies turn from vibrant green to sweeping golden fields each year, attracting numerous visitors with its endless, open seas of rice. In November last year, a national film production crew placed an abandoned school bus in the center, causing the “Forget-Worry Bus” to go viral overnight. Although we’re not yet at the season when rice ears droop low, the vast green expanse is still very healing.

Due to the needs of the film shoot, the abandoned bus paired with the golden rice fields unexpectedly created a romantic autumn scene, which quickly attracted large crowds that damaged the site. As a result, the production team had to cover the bus with black cloth, and the romantic view only lasted a few months. But now, it seems the bus has “come back to life,” and even features a newly added scenic viewing platform. It is currently not open to the public, so visitors are asked not to enter without permission.

In fact, Forget-Worry Valley has long been a must-visit spot on the list of many photographers and nature-loving travelers. The neatly arranged grass-green rice fields form a unique patchwork of green when viewed from above, while the vast golden scenery in autumn is simply stunning. Even if you don’t climb onto the bus, just gazing at this landscape from afar is incredibly healing and relaxing.
