Autumn is the peak season for enjoying hairy crabs. Following the launch of an all-you-can-eat hairy crab promotion at The Cloud Yuan Western Restaurant in Regent Taipei, Pin Hua Yuan Buffet, also part of the Yunlan Tourism Group, has launched its own all-you-can-eat hairy crab event starting October 12. The crabs are ordered and steamed to order, served individually at the table. On Thursdays and Fridays, the price is NT$1,180+10% per person for dinner, while on holidays, the price is NT$1,280+10% per person for both lunch and dinner.

To preserve the authentic flavor of the hairy crabs, Pin Hua Yuan’s executive chef, Wu Cheng-wei, steams the live crabs tied with perilla leaves. This method helps eliminate the chilliness of the crabs, and the simple “upside-down steaming” technique fully retains the rich crab roe and tender, juicy meat. The crabs are steamed to order and served individually in bamboo steamers along with ginger tea, bringing a touch of warmth to the unlimited hairy crab dining experience.
