Hidden gourmet gem at Fengjia Night Market: The ultra-trendy "ziplock bag colorful cocktails" you can hold in your hand

Honestly, there are already tons of articles and guides about Taichung’s Fengjia Night Market online. There are so many write-ups on popular spots that I kind of don’t feel like covering them—others have done it more thoroughly and better, so I’ll save my effort... But these two are truly hidden gourmet gems that not many people know about. Yijiang Shao just opened, and Mini Mapper Ziplock Bag Cocktail Shop is located in a rather secluded and low-key spot, which many visitors to Fengjia might overlook. But actually, after you’ve eaten and drank your fill at Fengjia, it’s perfect to end your night with a colorful and beautiful Mini Mapper ziplock bag cocktail for just a hundred bucks, giving you a wonderful and slightly tipsy finale. So... let me be a little meddlesome and introduce these two places for your reference~

Yijiang Shao Iron Plate Specialty is basically a high-end teppanyaki version of night market cuisine. Whether it’s skill or ingredients, it can definitely compete with high-end teppanyaki restaurants.

Yijiang Shao Iron Plate Specialty uses premium ingredients such as angular-cut beef, large sea prawns, and fresh scallops. At a night market, people usually go for snacks or fried foods, but occasionally you crave something a bit more upscale like this level of teppanyaki.

Just look at how fresh and high-quality these large sea prawns and scallops are.

There’s also a young, handsome chef doing live teppanyaki cooking right in front of you—the freshness and quality are right there for you to see.

Zhenghai Hesheng for 200 NT$ (flame-seared salmon, two large prawns, one scallop)
Sea Cow Hesheng for 180 NT$ (small portion beef, two large prawns, one scallop)
Flame-seared salmon seasoned with black pepper—you can taste the salmon’s natural sweetness. This simple preparation really lets the ingredients shine.

It has a subtle buttery aroma, plus seasoning with pepper, scallions, and garlic. The shrimp meat itself is sweet, firm, and has a delicious texture with lots of flavor—so tasty.

Fresh scallop
With simple seasoning, you can still clearly taste the ocean flavor and natural sweetness of the scallop. The texture is Q-soft, bouncy, and juicy—super fresh and sweet.

Yijiang Shao Iron Plate Specialty is run by young entrepreneurs—even their business cards are designed with a high-end feel. Bringing teppanyaki cuisine to the night market is also a kind of low-cost creative investment.

Mini Mapper Ziplock Bag Cocktail Shop is located on the first floor of the Wenhua Convention Center, in a peripheral area of Fengjia Night Market. This shop is on the same street as Jizhi BBQ. Once you see Jizhi BBQ, just walk a few minutes further inside and you’ll find it.

The specialty here is colorful hundred-dollar cocktails in ziplock bags. You can enjoy a trendy, affordable take-away concept and pack cute, vibrant cocktails to drink on the go.

It really does have the vibe of a cozy little bar—it’s not very big, and it gets crowded with just seven or eight people. Haha~

I like the name “Pulse Bar”—it feels full of life. And the decor is really amazing. The owner is a designer, so they know how to create a bar atmosphere even in a small space.

The bar counter can seat at most two to three people—it’s that mini. The main idea is for you to take away the ziplock bag cocktails. For a hundred bucks, you can enjoy the charmingly tipsy feeling of cocktails, and walking down the street holding a colorful, cute cocktail ziplock bag is just so trendy~

Sitting at the bar, chatting with the owner while catching up with friends—it’s really the closest contact you can get with the owner.

Light meals are also available here, though I think they're just meant to be convenient for guests, so there aren't many options.

Was there something? After walking around Fengjia, I ended up getting hungry at Mini Mapper on my last stop. Had to grab a rice burger.

Actually, this is probably from that same famous rice burger place that does home deliveries and group buys, right? The texture is really similar, haha. It’s super delicious when it’s hot—I’m already tempted to do another group buy.

We ordered three different-colored cocktails and watched the bartender skillfully mix them into vibrant layered colors. The ever-changing world of cocktails felt magical and fun.

The three differently colored pouch cocktails look so beautiful when placed together. Sea Breeze was my favorite—it was the tastiest. Blue Hawaii was refreshing, and Melon Blaze actually had a sweet melon aroma you could really taste. I thought all three cocktails we ordered were amazing. We just took them to-go and sipped them while walking. People kept glancing at our colorful pouch cocktails. Enjoying the beautiful night with a slight buzz—priceless.
