A forest-themed menu made of matcha — the world’s only “Snoopy Tea House” in Japan

The “Charlie Brown Café,” themed around the adorable Snoopy, has branches all over Asia. Earlier this year, it opened its first branch in Taiwan in Kaohsiung, attracting countless fans to pay homage. But if you're tired of coffee and want to experience a different shop atmosphere, then don’t miss the world’s first “Snoopy Tea House” located in Oita Prefecture, Japan.

The “Snoopy Tea House” is located in Yufuin, a famous hot spring town in Kyushu. The tea house covers an area of about 40 tsubo (approx. 132 m²) with 50 seats in total. Unlike the café branches across Asia, aside from the indispensable decorations featuring Snoopy and his friends, the Snoopy Tea House exudes a strong traditional Japanese vibe both inside and out. It offers Japanese-style drinks, desserts, and also sells cute sundries.

The Snoopy Tea House uses matcha as its main ingredient to create a series of “forest-themed” menus — such as the Snoopy Matcha Sundae, made with matcha, crispy flakes, ice cream, and matcha cookies; and the Snoopy Matcha Au Lait, blending green and white hues. Additionally, there are options like traditional Japanese wagashi and casual meals. There’s also a dedicated take-out window that sells matcha warabi mochi — a must-try for visitors.
