Launch of China’s First Hotel – Evergreen Laurel Shanghai Opens

Evergreen Laurel Hotel Shanghai officially commenced operations today (the 18th), marking the first hotel in mainland China for the Evergreen International hotel chain. This morning, the management held a ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony, attended in person by Evergreen Group Vice Chairman Kuo Li-ching, Vice Chairman Hsieh Chih-chien, Vice President Chang Kuo-wei, and Evergreen International Corporation Chairman Chang Ming-che, while ARATS Advisor Chen Yunlin and Executive Vice President Zheng Lizhong were also present.

The Evergreen International hotel chain currently operates nine hotels globally. Sun Chih-chien, General Manager of Evergreen Laurel Hotel, stated that since the hotel began trial operations in January this year, it has attracted many corporate bookings, with business travelers accounting for nearly 60% of guests. The first-quarter repeat guest rate exceeded 30%, with the main clientele being corporate clients from the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong. It is expected that the opening of Shanghai Disneyland will bring additional tourist stays, and the management is confident about future operations.

The hotel is located in the core area of Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Pudong. Right in front of the hotel is Exit of Jinke Road Station on Metro Line 2, which connects both Hongqiao and Pudong airports. It is approximately a 10-minute drive from the Shanghai New International Expo Center and the upcoming Shanghai Disneyland. The hotel is also adjacent to a cinema complex and shopping malls, offering advantages in transportation, business, tourism, and shopping.

Hotel Introduction:
The hotel features 269 rooms designed in a modern neoclassical style. Facilities include a bar, an open-kitchen Cantonese restaurant named Golden Cui, and the 900-square-meter Laurel Ballroom on the second floor, which can accommodate up to 60 Chinese-style banquet tables and boasts Shanghai’s first 270-degree panoramic LED screen. Additionally, there is a 900-square-meter rooftop garden on the third floor, ideal for hosting outdoor weddings or stylish parties.
