Previously, ETtoday EBC News Cloud reported that the service-oriented mainland Chinese hot pot chain "Haidilao" was planning to open a branch in Taipei. While the opening remains unannounced, Taiwanese businesses aren’t willing to let Haidilao steal the spotlight. The Ma-La International Catering Group has launched a new brand, "Wending Spicy Hot Pot," offering free manicures, real-person massages, and complimentary Haagen-Dazs ice cream to customers waiting for a table. From May 18 to May 31, during the soft opening period, the entire restaurant is 50% off.

Wending Spicy Hot Pot primarily offers à la carte hot pot meals. Broth options include spicy hot pot, health broth, pickled vegetable broth, and vegetable broth. The base price for the broth is NT$110, and you can refill duck blood and tofu unlimitedly. The minimum spend is NT$350. On the menu, the cheapest meat option is chicken at NT$98 per plate, while the least expensive beef and pork are NT$168 per plate. There are also premium options such as boneless wagyu short ribs at NT$368 and ribeye sirloin at NT$368. Other choices include seafood and handmade items.

The free manicure service at Wending Spicy Hot Pot is a cross-brand collaboration with OPI nail polish. Customers waiting in line can enjoy a free OPI manicure service. Additionally, there are real-person massages and 16 complimentary flavors of Haagen-Dazs ice cream available for unlimited enjoyment. Plans are underway to add board games in the future. Although these are waiting services, Wending Spicy Hot Pot states that if customers wish to try the manicure or massage during their meal, it’s possible—though due to only one staff member being available, waits may occur during busy times.
